The Euskalduna Conference Centre is a unique building and one of the flagships of new, 21st century Bilbao. The building was designed by architects Federico Soriano and Dolores Palacios to resemble a ship under construction, because it stands on the site formerly occupied by the Euskalduna shipyard. It won the Enric Miralles award for architecture at the 6th Spanish Architecture Biennial in 2001.

This 58,200 m² multi-purpose complex is located in the heart of the city of Bilbao. It hosts a wide range of economic, business, academic, political, institutional, social and cultural events.

Travel by air

Bilbao airport (BIO) is located just outside the city and is famous for its new main terminal opened in 2000 designed by Santiago Calatrava. It is served by several international airlines.

At Bilbao Airport the taxis are run by the Asociación Auto Taxis Femade, with 64 vehicles in the Arrivals area every day. You can reserve a taxi by telephone (+34) 944 800 909 or via the booking form on their website. Fares to Bilbao are €24–29.

Bizkaibus (Line A3247) is a bus service that connects the Bilbao Termibus with the airport with stops in Gran Vía 79, 500 m from the Euskalduna Conference Center. On the arrivals floor there is a customer services desk and ticket office.
